Guardians of Hope Honor the Fallen Through Softball and Service

Members of the Guardians of Hope softball team pose on the field following a past tournament.

I had the opportunity to attend a fundraiser in support of the “Guardians of Hope” softball team—a group made up mostly of our CPD officers.

The event aligned perfectly with the Cleveland Police Foundation’s mission to seek out and fund innovative approaches to relieve job-related stress and trauma.

That support continued during the Officer Down Tournament, held April 26–27, 2025 at Brookside Park. The tournament honored the lives and service of CPD Officer Jamieson Ritter and Euclid PD Officer Jacob Derbin, and helped support their families through team participation and community turnout.

Best of luck to the Guardians of Hope as their season continues—and thank you to everyone who made this tribute possible.
