First Officer Down Tournament Set for May 24

Members of the Guardians of Hope softball team pose on the field following a past tournament.

The Cleveland Police Foundation is proud to support the inaugural Officer Down Softball Tournament, hosted by the Guardians of Hope—an all-law enforcement team made up largely of Cleveland Police officers.

Originally scheduled for April, the event will now take place on Saturday, May 24 at Brookside Reservation in Cleveland. Opening ceremony begins at 8:30 AM, with the first games starting at 9:00 AM.

The tournament honors the memory of CPD Officer Jamieson Ritter and Euclid PD Officer Jacob Derbin, with proceeds supporting their families. Ten teams are expected to compete, and the day will also feature raffle baskets with a range of prizes to help raise additional funds.

This community event aligns with the Cleveland Police Foundation’s mission to support programs that relieve trauma and honor fallen heroes. We hope to see you there in support of this meaningful cause.
