This month’s Cleveland Police Foundation Police Officer of the Month is Detective Richard Jackson of the CPD Sex Crimes Unit, recognized for the dedication and effort he puts into every case he investigates.
I reached out to his immediate supervisor, Sgt. Gregory Williams, for comment on a recent arrest in which Detective Jackson played a key role. Sgt. Williams shared the following statement:
“Detective Richard Jackson demonstrated exceptional investigative skill and dedication in the case involving serial rapist Michael Mann. Through his thorough investigation, attention to detail, and commitment to justice, Detective Jackson played a pivotal role in identifying, arresting, and securing the conviction of Mann.
His efforts directly contributed to removing a dangerous offender from the community and ensuring that justice was served for all the victims. As a result of his outstanding work, Michael Mann was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
The City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Division of Police sincerely appreciate Detective Jackson’s dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service in this significant case.”
It is because of his dedication and devotion to his profession that the Cleveland Police Foundation is honored to name Detective Richard Jackson our Police Officer of the Month for September 2025.
