The job description of a big city detective is to investigate crimes by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and apprehending offenders to build cases and ensure justice. This month’s Cleveland Police Foundation Police Officer of the Month is Second District Detective Aaron Luther, and according to Second District Commander Tim Maffo-Judd, he is a special individual who goes above and beyond in his duties, as described in the following narrative:
“Detective Aaron Luther was recently involved in a case in which he was instrumental in the capture of several suspects wanted in aggravated robberies (carjackings). His diligence, investigative skills, and commitment led to the arrests of several individuals wanted for those violent crimes as well as the recovery of the stolen vehicles. Detective Luther is a dedicated officer, a hard worker, and a valuable asset to the Second District Detective Bureau.”
It is because of his dedication and devotion to his profession that the Cleveland Police Foundation is honored to name Second District Detective Aaron Luther our Police Officer of the Month for August 2025.
