Cops and Kids Reel in Fun at Fishing Event

The Western Reserve Land Conservancy and the Cleveland Police Foundation recently joined forces to host a delightful day of fishing and camaraderie at the Conservancy property in Burton, Ohio.

Despite damp weather, officers from all CPD Districts, the Mounted and Motorcycle Units, K-9s and their handlers, as well as officers from the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and Cleveland Clinic joined in the fun. The eager young anglers, provided by Councilman Kazy, Cleveland P.A.L., and Cleveland Rec Centers, managed to reel in an impressive number of Bluegills and Bass.

Attendees enjoyed a boxed lunch and a surprise visit from Santa Claus himself, who arrived with sirens blaring to distribute toys, grab bags, fishing rods, and bookbags. The successful event wrapped up with a promise to return next year. Our thanks to all the officers, children, and organizers who attended, making the event a memorable occasion.
