The Partner – August 2025: Service, Sports, and Neighborhood Pride

august 2025 partner

Dear Friends,

The August issue of The Partner is here, and it’s packed with stories of community, care, and connection. This month’s feature, Turning Small Gifts Into Lasting Change, shows just how far $10 a month can go—from Christmas presents for kids, to outings that bring youth and officers together, to programs supporting wellness for those who serve. It’s a reminder that even modest contributions ripple outward, building stronger neighborhoods across Cleveland.

Alongside that, you’ll find stories that highlight compassion in action, like Officer Luis Melendez’s recognition for helping a young rider, and the YMCA’s Delinda Hupka being named Community Partner of the Month for her dedication to youth. There are also upcoming events to plug into—from “Coffee with the Cops” to district community meetings—and celebrations of the Guardians of Hope softball team, new officers graduating, and community partnerships making a difference. Take a look inside, and see how neighbors, officers, and friends are shaping a safer, more connected Cleveland.
