The Cleveland Police Foundation played an important part in fulfilling the request of one of our CPD officers recently.
We were contacted by Patrol Officer Kayla Rutherford to see if we could get photos of her being pinned by her dad, a Lieutenant with the Youngstown P.D., when she graduated from the CPD Academy in Class 153. She also requested a photo of her brother, Officer Brennan Rutherford, who recently graduated in Class 156, who was also pinned by their father. Kayla shared that her mom wanted to get both pictures framed as a keepsake.
I then contacted Detective Kevin Wash from the CPD Photo Lab and, with the help of him and City Photographer Ruggero “Roger” Fatica, we were able to provide these meaningful photos to Officer Rutherford.
A big thank you to Detective Wash and Roger for going the extra mile to make this dream come through.
