Volunteers Build a Playground at the Erie Square Apartments

On Friday, June 26, the Cleveland Housing Network along with KaBoom, Morgan Stanley, Councilman TJ Dow, and over 200 community volunteers gathered at Erie Square Apartments to build a playground for the children. The volunteers began arriving at 6:30 A.M. and worked continuously until noontime when lunch was served. The hotdogs were grilled by Captain Keith Sulzer, and were served by retired C.P.D. Officers Alice Wygrocki, and Bob Guttu. After lunch work continued and it was amazing to see the transformation from an empty space to a sprawling playground that the children will get to enjoy for many years to come. A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that donated their time and effort to make this dream a reality for the kids at Erie Square Apartments.

Community Policing Commander Ellis Johnson, and Cleveland City Councilman TJ Dow were on hand to assist with the project.
