The CPF in Partnership with the OCPA Presents the “Tip Of The Week”

CLEVELAND DIVISION OF POLICE

In Cleveland, our police department is officially called the Division of Police. It is organized under the Department of Public Safety, which is headed by a Director who is appointed by and is directly responsible to the Mayor. The Chief of Police, who is directly responsible for the Division of Police, is also appointed by the Mayor.
The Cleveland Division of Police is an organization of men and women dedicated to enforcing the law and keeping the peace. They are law enforcement professionals, combing many different skills. They know and enforce thousands of laws and ordinances. They provide aid to victims in emergencies. They investigate crimes, and gather and examine evidence to help successfully prosecute criminals – and keep them off the street. They also work 24 hours a day, every day of the year to provide the protection and service you need.
So rest assured when you need the assistance from the Cleveland Division of Police you will be dealing with officers who will treat you with respect if respect is given, and will do so in a professional manner because these officers are truly ” Cleveland’s Finest “.
