Sixth Annual Unity in the Community Day

Over 100 children and families, mostly from CMHA’s Lakeview Estates area were invited for lunch, interacted with CPD, played games, and were treated to Mitchell’s Ice Cream for dessert. The kids went through an Eddie the Eagle Gun Safety lesson, talked about stranger danger, bullying, and other safety lessons from Officer Anna Mercado. A boy’s and girl’s bike were raffled off, courtesy of Cops for Kids and the Cleveland Police Foundation. This was truly a community event and it was wonderful seeing the kids dance the Nae Nae with Officer Mercado and Officer Kidd, and play football and other games with the officers. Thank you St. Malachi’s Youth Center, Ward 3 Councilman Kerry McCormack, Ohio City Inc, and St Ignatius HS for contributing to our community policing events.13177979_603114873187082_5540648439945960176_n
