Cleveland Officers Replace Senior Citizen’s Stolen Bike

Officers Ketchums and Fragapane from the Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Community Relations proudly stand with Mr. Tompkins, showing off his newly donated bike.

Last month, a heartwarming act of kindness unfolded at the Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Community Relations, demonstrating the compassion and community spirit our local police force exemplifies.

Officers Krantz and Garmback were approached by Mr. Tompkins, a senior citizen whose only means of transportation, his bicycle, had been stolen while he was shopping. An unknown individual causing a disturbance in the store had seized the opportunity to grab Mr. Tompkins’s bike and quickly made his getaway.

Hearing about Mr. Tompkins’s predicament, Sgt. Diaz coordinated with his colleagues at the Bureau of Community Relations. Together, they procured a bicycle donated by the Cleveland Police Athletic League. Officers Ketchums and Fragapane had the pleasure of delivering the new bike to Mr. Tompkins, restoring his mobility and his faith in community support.
