Little Free Libraries Being Made for the 1st and 5th Police Districts

12523105_558565474308689_1868884088210225292_nThe Cleveland Police Foundation recently received 2 more Little Free Libraries to place in the 1st and 5th Districts’ lobbies. The material to build these libraries was made possible through donations from families of fallen officers, the CPF, and The Greater Cleveland Police Officer Memorial Society. We need to thank RGI International of North Ridgeville, and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters-Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program out of Cleveland Job Corp Center for building these libraries free of charge. The cost to build the 2 libraries is estimated at around $2400. Both libraries will be dedicated to fallen police officers. The Cleveland Police Foundation has been partnering with Little Free Libraries and WKYC Channel 3 – Cleveland to promote literacy in our city and to make our police district lobbies more inviting and kid friendly. We want to thank the Hubbel family, Dan Volpe and David Lummis from the UBC, the students from Job Corp, all the great folks at RGI International, and Conveyor and Caster on Detroit Rd. in Cleveland for their donation of money, services, and time to this great community project.
