Citizen Police Academy Alumni Hold Annual Picnic

On my way to another event on the westside Saturday, August 15th , I stopped at The Cleveland Division of Police Mounted Unit to visit with some old friends of mine. Yes, it was the annual C.P.D. Citizens Police Academy Alumni picnic and as I arrived I smelled the hot dogs cooking, and the folks attending having a good time. I have a special place in my heart for these very special people because I presented the Citizen’s Police Academy Program when I was on the job, and helped form the Alumni Organization. I spoke with longtime member Linda Lewis, who stated ” All of our members are proud to be a part of this organization, and we support our Police Officers”. After a few more minutes I said my good-by to the group and on my way west I knew that I would be back next year for the picnic because this dedicated group is going to be around for a long time to come. For more information on joining the Citizens Police Academy you may call 216-623-5080. I highly recommend it
