Congratulations to Richard McIntosh, who on Saturday, January 16, 2016 received the J. Edgar Hoover Foundation Excellence in Law Enforcement Award at the Cuyahoga County Police Chief’s Association’s Installation Dinner.
The award was presented by the Chairman of the J. Edgar Hoover Foundation, Mr. William Branon, along with the Chairman of Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County, Dr. Russ Khouri.
Richard, upon retiring at the rank of Captain after a distinguished career with the Cleveland Division of Police, worked as a leader in the private security sector; including directing the security departments of Bank One, Third Federal Savings Bank, and Pat Catan Corporation; serving as a consultant to business and government and an advisor on crime prevention and safety. He currently serves on the Law Enforcement Advisory Board of Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County.

Richard’s service is another great example of how many active and retired members of the CPD give back to the community. In this case, serving with Crime Stoppers, an organization that assists law enforcement agencies in solving crimes and facilitating the arrest of those who commit them. He has also volunteered at Camp Cheerful, for the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Cleveland Sight Center.
