Cops, Kids and Christmas Brings Holiday Joy to Young Patients

The 43rd Annual Cops, Kids and Christmas event was once again held at the Ronald McDonald House. Cleveland Police Heroes in Blue from around the city came together to visit with children staying at the facility and to hand out toys to those dealing with health issues.

The children were also treated to a special visit from Santa Claus, who took time out of his busy schedule to sing Christmas carols and pose for pictures, much to the delight of the little ones.

It was truly a joy to see the smiles on the children’s faces, as well as the smiles on the officers’ faces, knowing they were able to bring some happiness to young people facing difficult challenges in their lives.

A big thank you goes out to all of the officers and the staff at the Ronald McDonald House who helped make this event a success. Special thanks as well to retired officers John Thomas and Jeff Stanczyk, who started this celebration 43 years ago while working in the Second District.

God bless you all, and I hope to see everyone again next year.
