Cops and Kids Share the Catch

An officer from Cleveland PAL hands a prize card to a smiling young girl under the event pavilion.

For the fifth year in a row, the Cleveland Police Foundation partnered with the Western Reserve Land Conservancy for the annual Cops/Kids Fishing Event. It was an outstanding weather day as kids from Cleveland PAL and the Boys & Girls Club joined officers for a day of fishing.

Once again, every child caught at least one fish and enjoyed fishing side by side with our fine officers. After fishing, everyone enjoyed a delicious box lunch, and each child left with a fishing rod, a book bag, and a gift bag of goodies supplied by PAL.

A big thank you to RPM and the Cleveland Police Foundation for sponsoring the event. Also, thanks to the volunteers from the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, Jackie Ketterer and Bob Kumazec from PAL, Rose Roy, Rick DeChant, and all the officers who participated. Without all of you, this wouldn’t have happened.

Hope to see you all next year.
