Officers from the First District Community Engagement Unit recently participated in the Amazing Shake at Innovation Academy West, serving as mentors and interviewers for a student-centered challenge focused on professionalism and communication.
Designed to help students build confidence and develop real-world social skills, the Amazing Shake includes mock interviews and on-the-spot conversations where poise, clarity, and presence matter. Officers met with students in small groups and one-on-one sessions, providing feedback and encouragement throughout the process.
It was a rewarding morning of shared insight, thoughtful dialogue, and positive connection. We thank Innovation Academy West for the opportunity to be involved—and for preparing these future leaders so well.
