Honoring Service and Sacrifice During Police Memorial Week

Police Memorial Week is a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of law enforcement officers who gave their lives protecting their communities. In Cleveland, this week holds a particularly deep meaning, as officers, families, and residents gather to pay tribute to those who are gone but never forgotten.

Reflecting on the week’s significance, Deputy Chief Jarod Schlacht of the Cleveland Division of Police shared:

“As Deputy Chief, I am deeply honored to commemorate Cleveland Police Memorial Week by paying tribute to our fallen officers, whose selfless sacrifices in the line of duty will forever be etched in our hearts and history. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire our commitment to serve and protect. We also extend our profound gratitude and support to the surviving families of our fallen heroes, whose strength and resilience honor their loved ones’ legacy. Together, we stand united in remembrance, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten as we strive for a safer Cleveland.”
