A Councilman, a Cop, a Coke, and a Smile at Perk Park

14141695_652059524959283_3218656873160909853_nThe Cleveland Police Foundation and Community Policing were joined by CPD’s 3rd District, Ward 3 Councilman Kerry McCormack, and the Downtown Residents Association to host A Councilman, a Cop, a Coke, and a Smile at Perk Park. We gave away free grilled hot dogs and free drinks, passed out presents to the kids, and got to know the residents and visitors in the downtown neighborhood. We had a great time interacting with the neighbors, especially the children. We were also joined by Black and Blue Side by Side, a group led by Al Wasco, to bring cops and African-Americans together in a positive atmosphere to get to know each other in the hopes of re-gaining the trust to make Cleveland a safer place.
