Third District Community Relations Awards

2017 Third District AwardsThe Third District Community Relations Committee Awards program was held September 2017 at the Fatima Family Center. The Master of Ceremony once again this year was T.V. Channel 19’s personality Harry Boomer who assisted in handing out well deserved awards to police and citizens in the Third District community.

Also included in these awards were the Community Service Plaques Bob Guttu had the pleasure of distributing to an officer, individual and business. Our officer being honored was Detective Anthony Spencer, our individual was Chia-Min Chen who is the City of Cleveland Asian Liaison, and our business being recognized was Pierre’s Ice Cream, with Matt Thornicroft accepting the award. On hand to honor the recipients were Mayor Frank Jackson, Chief Calvin Williams, Safety Director Mike McGrath and numerous other city dignitaries. The evening concluded with a delicious dinner and all in all it was a very special event for not only the recipients and their families, but also for those that attended to honor these outstanding individuals.

The Cleveland Police Foundation is the official charity for the Cleveland Division of Police and the only organization authorized to solicit charitable contributions on its behalf.

We provide funding for youth and community outreach programs, community policing and engagement initiatives, safety & crime prevention programs, and support the members of the Cleveland Division of Police to help them better perform their duties. Contributions to the CPF are tax deductible under section 501 (c)(3) of the IRS Code.
