The 35th Annual Fourth District Community Relations Award Dinner was held at the Downtown Hilton Garden Inn and the banquet room was packed with family, and friends of the recipients, as well as citizens from the community. Lt. Brian McEntee was the master of ceremonies and the guests in attendance included Mayor Frank Jackson, Chief Calvin Williams, Commander Brandon Kutz, and many other dignitaries. It was a very special night as over 40 citizens and police officers were recognized for going beyond the call of duty while serving their community. It was also a special night for The Cleveland Police Foundation as we honored the following individuals by presenting them with the Community Service Awards. Akeesha Abdullah among many other activities was recognized for being involved in book giveaways and is in collaboration with the Little Free Libraries, and WKYC-TV to promote literacy. The Saint Luke’s Foundation was honored for their dedication to improving and transforming both social and physical conditions in the neighborhood, as they embrace the core values of respect, leadership, partnership, courage, results, and transparency. Finally Captain John Sotomayor of the Fourth District was chosen for his 26 years of loyal service to the citizens of Cleveland and the residents of the community. A big thank you goes out to the Fourth District Community Relations Committee for the wonderful meal provided as well as the venue for this event. Also congratulations to all the recipients on a job well done and keep up the good work.
